The comedy treatment
Cancer is never joke… except for when it is. Wanting to find a new way to raise donations for their annual Daffodil Day collection, ANZ and The Cancer Society asked us to help.
Partnering with both organisations to produce a one-off live comedy show fronted by their new ambassador – beloved comedian Dai Henwood – we created a broadcast where viewers could donate via text or QR code prompts. The show was the centrepoint of a wider campaign that saw Dai sharing his own experiences after being diagnosed with cancer, highlighting the services the Cancer Society provides in a humorous way that would strike a chord with kiwis.
In addition, we created TV promos and digital assets to promote the show over two phases – to drive ticket sales, and viewership to the live ‘special event’ broadcast.
